The word "Anchor" stands alone atop our logo and our site - this is because an "Anchor" is also a symbol of Hope. 

Hebrews 6:19  "This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary."

At Anchor Advisors, we recognize that our ultimate security and hope does not come by the effort or assurance of man, but our hope is in the Lord.  

We don't believe in making big promises for big returns, or trying to be a hero by predicting what will happen in the future... We recognize that short term emotional responses regarding long term financial goals tend to cloud judgement.  We are simply your servants with the goal to do for you as we would want done for us.  We believe this service first approach helps us examine investment strategies in a way that combats emotional responses - so that our advice is centered more clearly on what is most appropriate and logical based on the needs and goals of our clients.

 Fouled Anchor Meaning

As a former member of the United States Navy, I have seen my share of "fouled anchors", as shown above...  Although this symbol is used so much in our military, many are not aware of what it symbolizes.  The tangled rope (or chain) around the anchor represents the trials and tribulations of life, and as we know, the anchor is a symbol of hope ... so this symbol indicates that even through all the troubles we face in life, there is hope. 

As we age and consider retirement, it can be challenging because there are so many uncertainties... ones tendency can be to focus on the "tangled ropes" which can lead to feeling out of control or uncertain about the right strategy regarding retirement... At Anchor Advisors, we try to help our clients stay focused on the things we can control, so that we don't lose sight of the anchor of hope that holds fast.
